Wolf, what's your honest prediction on this upcoming year?
Obviously our schedule is more favorable for a 10-0 run but do you think this group can actually get past LT?

Wolf, what's your honest prediction on this upcoming year? Obviously our schedule is more favorable for a 10-0 run but do you think this group can actually get past LT? I honestly don't know what to expect at this point '07. But I will say that this group is determined and motivated to make a deep run this year. We definitely have the team and pieces to beat LT this year that we didn't have in 2008 or 2009. A legit signal-caller and a defense capable of being the best we've had in years. Despite the toughness of region 2 this year, LT is honestly the only team that I see that's capable of stopping Longview from getting a title. But all in all, I have a good feeling about this year. One thing I ask is that if the matchup happens, we stay away from Waco. I'd take Corsicana over Waco even after last year's disaster. By the way, in all honesty, I see a 9-1 record going into the playoffs. Abe Martin's refs are unbeatable.

Very hard to beat Lufkin in Lufkin.

(no idea what they have but not like I have to know to know they'll be better than most) Katy returns 8(4 on offense and 4 on defense). I don't think Katy will be as talented as Longview this season. But they do have a good ball runner, which we've had trouble with recently. Seven Lakes, Morton Ranch and Cinco Ranch would all have to make the playoffs in order for Katy to go D2. Unless something surprising happens, I don't think Katy has a chance at going D1.

*Depth chart busters
Offense: Sophomore RB Jermycal Hasty(5'10 170)
Defense: Jr DB Chris Coby(5'11 175)
I fully expect these two to contribute well for the team come fall. Hasty has been having a great summer with the 7 on 7 team and football camps, not to mention his showing at the spring game. I actually took the time to look up a few of his stats with the freshman team last year. Had a few 200+ rushing games.
Coby had a great spring as well and contributed a bit to the team last season as a sophomore(9 tackles, 1 FF). I'm sure Lobo fans remember the viscous hits that he use to deliver while on the kickoff team. He's been camping at UT all summer.

I am ready to see this Hasty kid. Me too. I didn't get to attend the Spring game this year, but he had the best performance of our backs.

With him in backfield with White and Caraway, defenses would really be stretched. It would be a huge coaching blunder to leave this kid in JV.

I got to see Hasty at the 7 on 7 tournament here in Cstat and boy is he fast and agile. I can't wait to see what he can do in pads.
