Longview vs Dallas Thomas Jefferson - Lobo Stadium - September 7th, 1979 - via Dallas Morning News
Longview expels TJ Patriots, 27-6 It was a long bus ride home for visiting Thomas Jefferson here Friday night as the Longview Lobos racked up a 27-6 conquest before the home crowd. Clifford Ward started the high-octane Lobo machine in motion with a 38-yard touchdown jaunt. Then the halfback came roaring back with a 48-yarder to give Longview an early 14-0 advantage. The count went higher in the second period as Nathan Harris got behind the Thomas Jefferson secondary and hauled in a 30-yard scoring toss from Sammy Broughton. The Lobos elected elected to go for two points and Derek Grant plunged across as the hosts built up a 27-0 halftime count.

Clifford was a sophmore in 1979. He played in his first varsity game as a freshman against PT and he rushed for over 100 in that game as a Freshman.
